Umodzi Sacco participated in the Lilongwe Rural West Teachers’ Awards Ceremony, held on 4 September 2026 at Mbizi CDSS. The event brought together education stakeholders and community leaders, including the Director of Primary Education, the Lilongwe Council Chairperson, the CEO of Lilongwe Urban, and the CEO of Lilongwe Rural West.

As part of the programme, Umodzi Sacco was given an opportunity to present on the role of the Sacco in promoting and supporting teacher motivation. The presentation highlighted the importance of financial empowerment and access to appropriate financial services in supporting teachers to achieve their personal and professional goals.

The event also celebrated a significant achievement by the Lilongwe Rural West Division, which has improved its PSLC pass-rate ranking from position 6 to position 3 nationally. This milestone reflects the commitment and efforts of teachers, learners, school leadership and other education stakeholders in the division.

Umodzi Sacco was represented by Miracle, Marketing Officer, who delivered the presentation on behalf of the Sacco, together with three other staff members. The Sacco also enhanced its visibility at the event by decorating the venue with banners showcasing its various products and services.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, Umodzi Sacco donated K2.5 million towards the Teachers’ Awards Ceremony. The contribution demonstrates the Sacco’s commitment to supporting the education sector and contributing positively to the communities in which it operates.
